As a Realtor, we all have ideas on how to market your home for sale. But the question I am asking you today is....What do you as a home seller, expect from your Realtor on marketing your home? Are you happy with your home just being advertised on the MLS? Do you expect your home to be advertised in the local newspapers, magazines, or other websites perhaps?? How about virtual tours or professional videos? Are you a believer in Open Houses?
In the world of Real Estate, there are many forms of advertising, and in today's society, Social Media is by far the easiest and most effective in my opinion. You have many "followers" who for the most part you know and know you, so immediately there is a form of trust built. A friendship is formed. Friends refer friends. Word of mouth was and will still be the BEST form of advertising no matter what technology brings us in the future.
So I ask you again. Is the traditional form of newsprint, magazine, personal websites, Open Houses, and social media, enough to get your home SOLD?
At the end of the day, it is up to your Realtor, to educate you on the current market conditions, and come up with a listing price based on the latest comparable SOLD homes, NOT what you NEED to sell for. We as Realtors can advertise until the cows come home, but if your property isn't priced properly....unfortunately it will not sell.
What do you expect from us? I'd love to hear your responses.
Have a wonderful day!!
